Case Study — Tax Preparation

A tax firm's website was leaking clients. We cut contact friction by 60%.

GeminiTax looked professional — but visitors couldn't find a reason to trust them in under 3 seconds. We tore down the information hierarchy and rebuilt it around one goal: get the visitor to book a consultation before doubt sets in.

01 — The Structural Flaw

Four structural flaws that were costing GeminiTax clients every week.

A potential client lands on a tax firm's website with one question: "Can I trust you with my money?" The old site answered that question on page four — after the visitor had already left.

Dead-end navigation.
Visitors arrived, clicked around, and left. Five pages with no logical path to the one action that matters — booking a consultation.
Trust signals were hidden.
The homepage showed a stock photo and a tagline. Credentials, testimonials, and 20+ years of experience were hiding on a separate page most visitors never found.
A five-step contact flow.
Too many fields, too much friction. Every extra input field in a contact form costs you 5–10% of submissions. This form demanded five.
Mobile load times killed conversions.
The site took 8 seconds to load on a phone. 53% of mobile visitors abandon sites that take longer than 3 seconds. The math is brutal.
02 — The Engineered Solution

Five surgical fixes. Each one removes a barrier between the visitor and the booking.

The site was collapsed into a single-page flow: Authority → Services → Proof → Contact. Every pixel is engineered to move the visitor toward a conversion.

  1. Trust signals moved above the fold. Three credibility markers sit right below the headline. The proof is visible within 2 seconds of landing.
  2. Services became decision architecture. Eight confusing listings were consolidated into three clear tiers. The visitor self-selects.
  3. Contact fields cut from 5 to 2. We removed the friction. Service types are pre-selected based on what they click. Name and email only.
  4. Navigation eliminated on mobile. The nav is replaced with a single sticky CTA. The page forces the user toward the action.
  5. Page weight dropped by 78%. Time-to-interactive fell from 8.2s to 1.9s, stopping mobile visitors from bouncing.

03 — The Blueprint

Before and after: how the information hierarchy changed.

The left panel shows the old homepage — a template hero and a wall of undifferentiated services. The right panel shows the rebuilt flow: trust-first, tiered pricing, and streamlined booking.

After New GeminiTax Hero

Before: 5 pages, no hierarchy, trust buried on page 4.
After: Single flow: Authority → Services → Proof → Contact.

04 — The Final Result
